Transformers nicknames

Postby Sabrblade » Mon Aug 22, 2011 11:55 am

Ever notice how Transformers are often given nicknames by either the fandom or other characters?

...

What?

:|

Oh, right, stupid question!

Anyway, yeah, so a lot of Transformers characters have nicknames.

Though, just how many are there? How many nicknames can you think of that either the fandom or other characters have applied to specific characters?

However, let's leave out generic nicknames, like how G1 Kup would call Hot Rod "Lad", or how Hot Rod would call Kup "Old Timer", etc. How many character-specific nicknames can you think of?

Here's a few:
Optimus Prime - Prime, OP, Op, Primey
Megatron - Megs, Meggy, Megsy
Bumblebee - BB, Bee
Fortress Maximus - Fort Max, Fort, Maxie
Grimlock - Grimmy
Scorponok - Scorp, Scorpy
Starscream - Screamer, Scream

Any more?

“Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.” -- C.S. Lewis

Cronster and Unmaker are fan names, the rest are said by other characters in the series (comics actually).

Yes, other characters in the series called them for that (Thrust gave Megatron the nickname Flathead in revenge for Megatron calling him Squidhead, f. ex.).

I wouldn't really consider one-off insults to be "nicknames" (unless they were repeated several times over).
