alternity

Postby lioconvoy » Wed Mar 31, 2010 2:01 pm

what are your views on the alternity (japan exclusive) transformers.
Both the plot idea of ascended transformers and the toys from the line?

Personally, i like to believe that the alternity are like super evolved from the transformers who are sent in to the matrix who have managed to do away with the shackles of there mortal bonds. much like the ancients in stargate.
personally i like this idea as it potentially gives the transformers a closer link with primus.
also i like the idea of different body options for the alternity.

the one thing i personally don't like is the fact that blackconvoy aka nemesis prime is an autobot.

so what are your thauts?

Alternity is awesome! Each character is practically a god! And they're even more advanced than the already-hyper-advanced Transcendant Technomorphs (TransTechs).

Though, as for Convoy Super Black turning out to be Universe 2003 Nemesis Prime, well, that was very interesting. I mean, they took one of the baddest characters of them all, and managed to successfully pull off a believable way of him obtaining redemption. Though, he's still pretty much an anti-hero, as he's all ruthless and merciless and not some goody-buddy Autobot.

And the story about Megatron Diamond Black actually being the Megatron boss from the Famicom game Convoy no Nazo, and having that game retconned as a cross-dimensional game "full of death and suffering", was brilliant!

And now that you mention it, I am so glad that you brought up this topic, as I was wanting to do something regarding Alternity. I have three questions to ask everyone about Alternity.

1. Since the toyline started, one mold has been used three times each, usually as to represent a different version of each character. However with the Bumble(bee) mold being redecoed as Cliff(jumper), and the Starscream mold will be redecoed as Skywarp, these two molds are going to be redecoed into different characters. Since each mold has been used three times, who do you think the third Bumble/Cliff and Starscream/Skywarp molds will represent?

2. What Transformers character(s) do you think deserve most to be permitted to join the Alternity (or if not that, then become Protectors)?

3. If they were to make an Alternity figure of said character(s), what three color schemes would the toys be in?

My answers:
1. For the third BB/CJ mold, I don't know. Maybe Bug Bite? Or Hubcap? Or Bumper? Or Goldbug? Or even Shattered Glass Goldbug? AS for the third Seeker, Thundercracker would be the obvious choice.

2. The ones I think that deserve to become a part of the Alternity the most would be Optimus Primal (but, he's already a Protector, so scratch that), Beast Wars Dinobot, and Animated Prowl.

3. For toys of these figures, I'd say Dinobot would be redecoed once into Grimlock and again for... some other dinosaur bot? But, I can't think of who. As for TFA Prowl, because of his name, he would be part of a coalition of other Prowls, including G1 Prowl. So the logical redecos would be Bluestreak and Smokescreen.

i am waiting for the silver/red/black convoy mold to get an ultra magnus repaint lol.
as for the bb mold, i think hotrod would look good.
as for adding caricters hmm...
lioconvoy, bigconvoy, deathsaurus, starsaber, dinobot, cheetor, perhaps even the headmasters.
as for dinobot/grimlock idea i would say tripticon or bw megatron.

perhaps unicron would turn out to be some kick ass dodge charger or something lol.
we so need to see the relationship with the alternity and primus and some kind of cilestial battle on the astril plane.
i would like to see the alternity and transtech as well

BW Megatron maybe, but not Trypticon. He's too dumb and unimpressive to become an Alternity.

lioconvoy wrote:perhaps unicron would turn out to be some kick ass dodge charger or something lol.
No way! Primus and Unicron are already above the Alternity. So, bringing them into these forms would kinda lower their god-like status, making them equal to their some of their inferiors.

More like on the Timaeus Drive instead of the Astral Plane.

true about tripticon. i got a little carried away lol.
deathsaurus, grimlock, dinobot, bw megatron, bwii galvatron and bw neo magmatron could share a molding or type perhaps.

as for primus and unicron they could have auto avitars. after all, sideways/doubleface was unicron's avitar in armarda

But that wasn't the same thing. The Alternity are each a coalition of many beings who all share the same names and identities. Whereas there exists only one Unicron and one Primus. And even if the Alternity are almost godlike, they are still beneath the status of Unicron and Primus. So, making Alternity version of those two would downgrade them both from their current deity rank.

As that car, it works. That car is perfect for him. It's highly sleek, areodynamic, and even kinda looks like a "jet-car". Besides, he's still got his wings in Robot Mode.

i agree that primus and unicron should keep there god status but it would be interesting never the less to see auto avitars for them. perhaps they could be the link between the alternity and the deiaaties?
much like a prophit or the original 13 answers directly to primus.

as for starscream, i agree that he looks cool but i'm just not soled with the car alt mode. the bot mode looks grate granted and i will verry probobly change my oppinion verry soon, but as it stands at this second i am not soled.
we will see when i grab myself an alternity screamer lol

a caricter that i have just thaut of who should have alternity status is lockdown. if they were to make a mold for it they could perhaps reuse it for an alternity oil slick and deathshead. it would be nice to see deathshead and lockdown and as for oil slick, it could give reason for cosmic rust thrue out the moltiverse

I can't see why there would be any reason to. That's like saying that there needs to be an explanation for the existance of Energon throughout the multiverse. The simple answer would be that, since they're all TF universes, they can all make similar stuff.

I just thought of two more Alternity ideas:
1. BW Cheetor. One redeco could be Tigatron and the other could be G1 Ravage of the Beast Era.
2. G1 Ravage of the G1 time. One redeco could be Howlback, and the other could be Glit (whose toy was also repurposed as Shattered Glass Ravage, so maybe that could work to).
