Out of these five, Soundwave is the one I would least vote for. He had zero personality other than being Megatron's yesman and tool, and he did nothing of worth on his own without being influenced by another individual.

The only time where he seemed to act independently was in the Headmasters series, where he had some kind of personal vendetta against Blaster and even seemed to go behind Galvatron's back at times (even once privately referring to Galvatron as a fool :o ). Though, he was still the loyal soldier he always was, he just seemed to be able to think for himself a lot better than he did before in the G1 cartoon.

(Though, I haven't read any of the G1 comics - Marvel, Dreamwave, IDW, or otherwise - so I can't comment on those).

His toy may have been decent for its time, his cassette gimmick may have been unique, and his voice may have been awesome, but this isn't celebrating the characters with the best toys, gimmicks, or voices.

Though, I think I liked both Cybertron Soundwave and Animated Soundwave better than G1 Soundwave.
"When there's gold feathers, punch behind you!!"

“Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.” -- C.S. Lewis

I like cybertron soundwave better, but not animated. he was decent in his second episode, but i hated him in his first.
