What about Overload?

“Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.” -- C.S. Lewis

Is he a real character? Is he a decepticon spy? where did he come from? why would a mini-con need a battle suit? He doesnt talk in the show, is he an idiot? What happened to him after armada? The List goes on and on and on.

Overload himself doesn't even know who he is or where he came from. That's his current mission: To find out about his mysterious origins.

No, Sentinel Maximus is a merged hybrid form of Primal Prime and Apelinq. He hails from a post-Beast Machines part of the G1 world and eventually dimension-hopped into the Unicron Trilogy world during the time of the Cybertron cartoon, which was long after the events of Armada (which Overload took part in).

And Ultra Maguns isn't a candidate either, as he too existed post-Armada, when Overload had already left by then to seek out his past, donning a new body like that of Cybertron Defense Scattorshot.

Yes, but he isn't the same individual as Energon Ultra Magnus. While Armada Overload = Micron Densetsu Ultra Magnus, Armada Overload =/= Energon Ultra Magnus.
