“Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.” -- C.S. Lewis
Re: sailor moonPromotional video from Bandai Japan for the new SH Figurarts figure, w/ Kotono Mitsuishi herself (Sailor Moon's original voice actress) providing the voiceover.
Wow, her voice really has evolved over the years. "When there's gold feathers, punch behind you!!"

Re: sailor moonBIG news!
Not pertaining to the new anime, or anything for English-speaking countries, but still BIG! Osabu has confirmed via his Twitter that the Sailor Moon musicals are returning this September! That's right, Sera Myu is back! There will be 16 performances, from September 13th through the 23rd. The cast and staff have all been selected. And Naoko was present to witness the auditions. Promotional poster ![]() Cast members for the six main protagonists: ![]() ![]() Yes, Mamoru is being played by a woman. Past musical performances have had male roles performed by actresses, but this will be the first musical to have Mamoru played by one. And the actress playing him here is a big name former Takarazuka Revue actress. Also, Makoto's actress was previously in Kamen Rider Kiva. "When there's gold feathers, punch behind you!!"

Re: sailor moonWhy can't they do this over here. i mean they've done Spiderman and south park so why not sailor moon or for that matter any other anime

Re: sailor moonNot enough appeal, I guess. Plus, the Spider-Man musical was a failure. EDIT: When you think about it, the series' home nation is Japan, so wouldn't it make sense for something like this to be a Japanese event? I mean, the Spider-Man and South Park ones you mentioned happened in America because the two were created in America. Do you also feel the same way about Spider-Man's musical not reaching Asian countries as you do about Sera Myu not reaching outside Japan? And, really, it's not exactly something nearly as big as, say, Broadway performances of classic plays that are universally known on not only a global level but a pan-generational level. As popular as Sailor Moon is, it still very much only appeals to a niche market from a certain generation range outside of its domestic nation. Anime in general is a niche market in the U.S., with it being a big mainstream deal in its home country (since animation in general is treated more seriously over there than in the West). Not to mention how, up until the new manga release, Sailor Moon was an economically dead franchise in America for years, with Toei having pulled the license from all North American companies back in 2004. No one owned it in the U.S., so any official American production of the series would have been impossible. Though, there was indeed at least one live show at the Canadian National Exhibition, but it was more of a promotional gig rather than any serious production. And from reports of the event, it was poorly done, with the actress playing Sailor Moon calling the experience "terrible". As for the U.S., there was also... this... thing. X_X "When there's gold feathers, punch behind you!!"

Re: sailor moon
I'm back up and running, codename Corey Burton is the best Optimus Prime ![]() As far as sailor moon I always liked Pluto best haha The coward desires revenge but being afraid to die, he looks to others, maybe to the government of the day, to do the work of defense for him.
Re: sailor moonFormal announcement about the new musical and first look at their costumes:
Looks like even the Shitennou will also be played by actresses. So, an all-female Takarazuka-style cast. "When there's gold feathers, punch behind you!!"

Re: sailor moonJust an odd fan boy question I've been toying with but who's better sailor pluto or vector prime?
Also with the whole "pluto no longer being a planet" thing do you think sailor pluto is still relivant? Personally i think it just adds to the characters appeal. Seeing as she guards the doors of time and all. It's almost as if they never admitted pluto was a planet in the first place ![]()
