anime thread

Postby ironrod prime » Wed Jun 19, 2013 4:01 pm

I thought it would be cool to start an anime thread to discuss our favorite animes

I'll start with one that ii just finished watching. Clannad and clannad after story.

I thought it was a very touching show. With a nice blend of humor and drama with after story being the more emotionally driven of the two seasons

What do you guys think or if you guys haven't seen it feel free to bring up your favorite

No.

Anime are cartoons made by Japan for Japan first and foremost. Avatar was an American series created in America, with its animation only outsourced to an Asian studio, like how Batman, The Simpsons, and the G1 cartoon were.
"When there's gold feathers, punch behind you!!"

“Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.” -- C.S. Lewis

Then I can officially say, I have seen no animes.

Wait, unless Zoids, Medabots, or Gundam were? I'm not sure if those were American made or Japanese made.

Unicron Trilogy was Japanese made, only dubbed to English later.

Not to talk about Digimon. :)

I'll come back to this as I try to collect a list of all the anime I have seen. :)
