New from TakaraTomy comes an all new addition to the Masterpiece toyline: MP-01B Convoy Black Version.
Online retailer eHobby has put up a preorder page for a redeco of the Masterpiece Convoy figure mold in all new "Black Convoy"/"Nemesis Prime" colors.
TakaraTomy themselves have also updated their site with an info page on this figure, confirming that it is indeed the MP-01 version without the MP-04 version's trailer. The accessories to be included with this figure are his gun, a red energy axe, Megatron in gun mode, and a red LED Matrix.
Also included will be a special comic by Hidetsugu Yoshioka, who is known for the Japanese G2 pack-in manga and story pages, and the Hybrid Style Black Convoy manga.
It is currently unknown what allegiance this guy follows, though it could very well be Optimus himself in a Black Body upgrade, rather than an evil counterpart.
And, since a manga will accompany this figure, this manga will be the first ever piece of fiction for the Masterpiece toyline!

“Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.” -- C.S. Lewis
