4 more possible BotCon '15 souvenirs - Waspinator redecos

Postby Sabrblade » Wed May 20, 2015 2:06 pm

An auction on Taobao has turned up four more potential souvenir exclusives for BotCon 2015. All four are redecos of Generations Thrilling 30 Deluxe class Waspinator, and three of them have very specific color schemes.

The first is a homage to the Fox Kids Transmetal Waspinator, which in turn makes this figure a dead ringer for Shattered Glass Waspinator, whose deco also pays homage to the Fox Kids Transmetal.

The second is a homage to the unreleased "Halloween Horrorcon Value Pack" Waspinator that was to have been part of the 2003 Transformers: Universe line, and which also was to have used the Transmetal mold.

The third is still a mystery, but the fourth is a quite surprising homage, for it is a Diaclone homage! It is based on the red, black, blue, teal, and silver deco of the Warudaros figure, one of the Diaclone molds that was not used for Transformers.

“Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.” -- C.S. Lewis
