Masterpiece Convoy (Beast Wars) aka Optimus Primal prototype

Postby Sabrblade » Thu Jan 21, 2016 12:15 pm

The latest issue of Figure Ō has provided us with the first actual prototype images of the upcoming Masterpiece Convoy (Beast Wars) figure. In celebration of Beast Wars's 20th anniversary, this brand new figure is based directly on Mainframe's season 1 cartoon CGI model for Optimus Primal. The images show that the figure can both stand up on two legs and hunch over on all-fours in Beast Mode, and in Robot Mode features his dual swords, his shoulder missile guns, his double-barreled arm cannons, articulated fingers, wrist articulation, and even light-up eyes! His Beast Mode gorilla head even has three different facial expressions ranging between grimacing, yelling, and smiling. Expect this figure's release to be sometime later this year.

“Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.” -- C.S. Lewis
