The Transformers Collectors Club
has updated its website's Prose Fiction
section with the fourth installment of the Beast Wars: Uprising series of text stories. For those unaware, Beast Wars: Uprising is a whole new take on Beast Wars much like how IDW's current comics are a new take on G1. In this darker universe, the Maximals and Predacons are not beast-based Transformers fighting a war on Earth, but are instead a subservient class of Cybertronians ruled under the corrupt and decrepit Autobots and Decepticons of old, who are now collectively known as "the Builders". The Builders treated the Maximals and Predacons as little more than tools to fight each other in gladiatorial combat for pleasure and personal gain, rather than as individuals. That all changed when a lone Maximal, Lio Convoy, started a rebellion known as the Grand Uprising, in which he rallied other Maximals and Predacons to join his cause of overthrowing their tyrannical Builder overlords. But many remained loyal to the Builders and opposed Lio Convoy's resistance movement, resulting in a conflict of Maximals and Predacons on one side fighting for freedom and change against the Builders and other Maximals and Predacons fighting for ironclad order and dominance.
This new text story, titled "Micro-Aggressions
", is the fourth story in this series and, from the looks of the title page artwork, seems to feature the Autobot Hot Rod, the Maximal Grimlock, and the Predacon Galvatron entering the greater conflict. The story is written by Jim Sorenson and illustrated by Christopher Colgin. It is available for anyone to read freely in PDF form. The first three stories can also be read on the Club's website, each titled "Broken Windshields
", "Head Games
", and "Burning Bridges
