Transformers: Prime Season Two Confirmed!

Postby Sabrblade » Fri Feb 04, 2011 11:16 pm

As the title says, we're not even up to the sixth episode's premiere date yet, and already we have a confirmation on the second season of the Transformers: Prime cartoon being greenlit for development. Toonzone has this to say in their report of the matter:
In a private screening of the Transformers: Prime season premiere, Hub network representatives confirmed that a second season of Transformers: Prime is underway. The season is currently set for another 26 episodes to follow the first 26 episodes of season 1. New episodes of Transformers: Prime are set to premiere on February 11, 2011. Check out the Hubworld website for more details.
Another 26 episodes makes this a total of 52 episodes confirmed for Transformers: Prime thus far (unless the "Darkness Rising" mini-series isn't counted as season one, making the total instead be 57 episodes).

“Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.” -- C.S. Lewis

Wrong. Armada and Cybertron both also have 52 episodes. It's equal to them, not outlasting. Energon was supposed to, But Hasbro cut one episode out, deciding that the kids of the U.S. wouldn't understand it.

It's also equal in length to Beast Wars' 52 episode run.

Unless, again, the "Darkness Rising" mini-series isn't counted as part of season one. Then it would total out to 57 episodes and lioconvoy would then be correct. But we don't know that yet or not.

Though, Wing Saber, Energon's episode count is... weird. While there were a total of 52 episodes produced, you're right that one was cut out in the English version. However, while that missing episode did air in the Japanese versions (Super Link), another episode was not counted as an actual episode and instead aired as a special.

So, in Energon, 52 episodes were created, but one was cut out (making 51 episodes). In Super Link, 52 episodes were created, but one aired as a special and not as an episode (making 51 episodes plus 1 special).
