In another thread here, I made a list for someone who's watching G1 season 3 for the first time of an order that would work for watching the episodes.

First, I used production order as a base, and then put certain episodes in an appropriate order to make them flow in a coherent sense. though, one of the episodes, "Dark Awakening" has two different endings, so I put it on the list twice, as each ending lets it take place in two different spots.

But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. well i own the matrix of leadership boxset and there is a 56 page booklet of all the episodes 1-98 in season 3 this is the boradcast order

66-70 Five Faces Of Darkness
71. The Killing Jar
72. Chaos
73. Dark awakening
74. Starscreams Ghost
75. Theif In The Night
76. Forever is a long time coming
77. Surprise Party
78. Madmans Paradise
79. Carnage In C Minor
80. Fight Or Flee
81. Web World
82. Ghost in the Machine
83. The Dweller In The Depths

90. Money is everything
91. Call Of the Primitives

But they edited the episodes to fit the story line better dark awakening was going by the 2nd version in this so dark awakening is at episodes 93 now. theif in the night comes at episode 73 and fight or flee comes at episode 74. starscreams ghost is at episode 75. Web world is at episode 80 ghost in the machine at 81 all the episodes up to 93 was moved back

I own that set too, but they did not reorder any episodes out of broadcast order on the discs. They reordered them on the labels and booklets, but the discs themselves have them placed in broadcast order, which messes up some of the story.

Though, I went with production order as a base since, well, that's the order they were made in. but, as most of the episodes are just filler, either order works as long as the few story-driven episodes are put in their proper arrangements.

I have some questions:

I saw the episode, "Starscream's Ghost", for the first time tonight. At the end of the episode his ghost seemingly inhabits a second Decepticon body. Does this come into play again or is it forgotten entirely?

Also, does the entire season (3) take place in space? Why? I guess I missed something?

Final one:

I was told the Beast Wars began after the Unicron was beaten in the animated movie, what happened to the Autobots? If the Predacons have existed for so long, what happened to the 'Cons? When did the Maximals come into existence? In the Beast Wars timeline, are all Transformers animals? I know Megatron was pushing for all organic TF's to be turned into pure mechanical robots...what's the deal?

Watch "Ghost in the Machine" immediately after "Starscream's Ghost", as it follows on directly from it.

Though, I hope you saw both "Fight or Flee" and "Thief in the Night" before watching "Starscream's Ghost", as they both take place before it in that order.

CYLON (13) wrote:Also, does the entire season (3) take place in space? Why? I guess I missed something?
You saw the 1986 movie, right? It shifted the setting from stay on just Earth and Cybertron to reaching space itself. The five-part opener of season 3 "Five Faces of Darkness" follows on from the movie, keeping its setting extending beyond Cybertron and Earth. There are some episodes still set on Earth, but not all.

CYLON (13) wrote:Final one:

Wwwwwwwwwwhat? That makes no sense. How could Beast Wars start right after the movie if season 3's still going on? Whoever told you that got their facts confused.

You don't watch many of the shows, do you? :|

The cast of Beast Wars come from 300 years into the future. The Maximals and Predacons are the descendants of the Autobots and Decepticons, after having undergone the Great Upgrade into Maximals and Predacons, reducing their sizes to emphasize fuel efficiency.

No, not everyone's an animal. Only those who went with Optimus Primal and Megatron to Prehistoric Earth to take part in the Beast Wars. Or, those Maximals who took part in the Sparkwar in Beast Machines. Cybertron was still popuated by vehicular TFs, just ones at a smaller size than Autobots and Decepticons.

Megatron was pushing to remove any traces of organic nature from Cybertron. It was only the Maximals under Optimus Primal's command who had any organic features in them. Before they came along, all Megatron did was freeze up the transformation ability of all the Maximals on Cybertron, keeping them stuck in one mode, and then hunted them down with his Vehicon drone army to extract their sparks. But that business wasn't about him getting rid organic matter, just him trying to take over. What did involve organic material that he tried to get rid of (other than Optimus Primal's Maximals) were aspects of Cybertron itself, which had some organic planetary layers down below, as well as having an organic planetary core.

 I do watch the shows!
I'm just not an expert...yet!

The part about the Beast Wars starting after Unicron's defeat...misinformation.

The Maximal/Predacon question came about because of the above AND my first time viewings of G1 S3 left me wondering what was going on with the whole history of the the Beasts...just got my complete dvd collection, y'know. ;)

Thanks so much for clearing all that up for me, though.

Oh, yeah! The G1 S3 episodes...I'm watching them on The Hub, I don't think they're being run in order. They aired the one where Optimus is revived in the Autobot tomb; the previews for the next show said that story would continue...if I'm remembering correctly they aired a different one. And I didn't catch the pre-"Starscream's Ghost" episodes either. :(
I'm having a blast watching them for the first time, even though I may miss one here or there.
Maybe I should get the boxset? I think it's pretty inexpensive on Amazon, currently. And for most orders they do free shipping on orders of at least $25!

Yeah, none of the DVD releases have ever really put the episodes in a good watchable order (Kid Rhino came close, but it also got some weirdness in its episode order). The list I posted here was written in an attempt to put the episodes in a decent and coherent viewing order.

As for what they;re playing on the Hub, I think they're airing them in the order they were put on the Shout! Factory DVDs (which used the original 1986 broadcast order).

In order or out, I think the episodes are pretty great.
I don't remember who it was on this board that said S3 had some of the best episodes of the series.

I know I've said that season 3 had some the best, and some of the worst, episodes of G1.
