Which Transformer Deaths do you think were the Most memorable/emotional from each series, and overall?
My Opinions:
G1: Ironhide's death
BW: Dinobot
BM: Primal/Megatron's (Otherwise known as the only death that lasted)
RID: Were there even any deaths?
Armada: Three-way tie between Smokescreen, Optimus, and STarscream
Energon: Alpha Q Or Inferno
Cybertron: Vector Prime
Animated: Prowl
Prime: Cliffjumper (so far)

Armada was the first series I ever watched from start to finish and Smokescreen's death cut me real deep. I remember not being able to concentrate at school for a bit (until he came back as Hoist!) Optimus' also left me a bit on the sad side, the image of his shattered, white face haunted me for a while

G1, Optimus's death. I disliked it so much that I stopped watching the show.

Then there's Beast Wars: Dinobots death... yeah, it was sad.
 I was in high school, too. Old man!

out of all of them id say my top three are

dinobot-a classic he lived a warrior and died a hero what else is there to say
armada starscream-such a great character i think they really had something here and they completely dropped the ball when they brought him back in energon
movie ironhide-i think i stand for all of us when i say nobody saw this comming its a real shame and by a fellow autobot no less

Forgot the movies!
Well... there were a lot of deaths in the movies
Movie 1 - Definitely Jazz. His death was not only sad, but epic as well!
Movie 2 - Jetfire... tore out his own spark so Optimus could win
Movie 3 - Man... I'd say we have another tie! There was Ironhide, as ironrod mentioned. Then, Que, who died begging for his life! Then Wheelie and Brains, who saved Bumblebee and several other Autobots who would've been executed!

Bw Depth Charge
Bw Dinobot tm2 again!

None of the movie deaths, I'll say that. :|

Tigerhawk's death always got me, since I felt he was so short-lived.

Nope. :P

Never knew any of them enough to care. Seriously, none of these movies gave me any reasons why I should even care about who lives and who dies.
  • Ironhide's murder by Sentinel? Barely knew him anyway.
  • Megatron's deaths? Predictable.
  • Optimus Prime's impalement? Typical.
  • Sentinel Prime's death? Hey, it's only making Opitmus look more cold.
  • Starscream's death? Pitiful.
  • Jazz's death? Brushed off as though it were nothing.
  • The Fallen's death? Abrupt.
  • Jetfire's sacrifice? Noble, but he wasn't gonna last much longer at his age.
  • Laserbeak's death? Kinda cool, but a savage like him wouldn't dare be kept alive by the writers.
  • Que's death? Disturbing, but barely knew him too.
  • Any other Decepticons' deaths? Mere Redshirts.
There's something to be said about a film when the audience doesn't empathize with its (would-be) main stars.

I wanted to like these bots, but these films kept trying to sell Shia and his lover interests instead. Watching all three films, none of these bots are ever given enough focus to let us really get to know them, beyond Bumblebee (who couldn't even speak), and Skids and Mudflap (who I didn't want to get to know).

I may be able to get better familiar with them by reading the supplementary movie material like the comics and books and such, but one shouldn't have to seek out non-movie material if the characters already appeared in the movies themselves.
