movies. comics, etc are all fiction the only real confirmation of a characters existants is its toy so untill the make one i can call him whatever i want

If you're going by that, then half the Animated characters are nameless

Hasbro had ILM design the character, to which the designers gave it the name Devcon.

Look, the name comes from concept art of the character, designed by Aaron McBride of ILM, found on the DOTM Blu-Ray bonus material, all released and approved by Hasbro.
