I want a plot that doesn't interfere with the established plots of the first game and the Prime cartoon.

Seriously this game is awesome, the transformers game I've waited my whole life for. Game play is awesome, the Autobot and decepticon campaigns are a ton of fun, and the replay value is high.

My only complaints is the team co-op game play live is limited. Which is kind of like Horde in Gears of War. I would like to see some improvements to this in the next game. And also I just get owned in the versus types.

With that said if your a gamer and a transformers fan this game is great.

My 5 year old plays it more than me. I've beaten the Decepticon campaign on hard, and I'm working on the Autobot now.

Hasbro please release some more figures from this game, and I can't wait for the sequel.

OK, I _FINALLY_ got around to playing my PC copy since I dont have a good enough computer I had to borrow my parents for a while and play on it atm. They just got a new one last year so it could handle it and mine is like seven years old and won't run this. Anyway today was the first time I seriously sat down and played and I went at it for 4 hours lol. 1 hour was online in the fun team deathmatch mode but I spent most of the time playing Decepticon campaign on easy (I will up the difficulty later I'm just still trying to get used to what everything does and the layout since you cant change the keys). I had a ton of fun with this being a transformers fan since I can remember and I of course was using Megatron but will play with other characters later. For future games in this style I hope they do the character story mode and can have a replay like in Lego Star Wars where you either make your own character or can use ANY of the unlocked ones you want in the other "free play" mode. Also I agree that botmaches would be awesome, it worked well for Unreal Championship 1 and 2 on xbox, especially the second which is close to the same style as this War for Cybertron game. Only complaint I have so far is that at least on the PC version people are too good for me atm haha, I think it is the leveling system everyone else is level 15-25 on all types, and also I am bad at shooters but I still had fun even though I only scored about 20-25 pts the whole time. I'm hoping for a true CTF mode too the next game as well as maybe Cybertron and Earth levels for multiplayer. So maybe we can be running around in Earth places during a team game or vs bots. I was considering getting some Star Wars shooters like Battlefront 1 and 2 and Republic Commando 1 since it is like 20 dollars for all three now at the local walmarts and will run on my older PC, but this is a good fill in when I have access to my parents PC. Hopefully we can get an RPG style game like Diablo 2 styled Transformers or maybe even a turn based one would be good like Shining Force Transformers :>.

Played a bit more of the easy mode autobot campaign today. Just got to the cutscene where Optimus becomes the last Prime. I haven't finished the game yet but so far it is taking me about an hour or so to finish each chapter on easy counting the time of watching videos and stuff. That makes for 10 hours on each skill level at least for a total of at least 30 hours for me plus multiply that by 3 for being able to be 3 different characters you get 90 to 100 hours of play easy, which is worth the money especially with multiplayer, even though it looks like there aren't but about 100 people still playing it much on PC when I log on I still have fun with the team DM. I see this as a very replayable game on top of all that in single player just for all the fun I've had with it so far. I must say that the last chapter I completed, the Kaon Prison escape was one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had in gaming ever, and I've played lots of games. I especially liked the 4 sided megatron faced pillar that talks and soundwave's boss fight where you have to take down frenzy, rumble, laserbeak, and soundwave himself. Have 3 chapters to go still but really liking this so far.

Just finished the easy mode mostly as Megatron and Optimus and have just barely started hard mode (about half way through the first chapter) currently playing as Brawl. Easy is challenging enough on boss fights, and hard you get sniped dead in about 2 or 3 shots so the challenge should be worth it. Love this game it was great especially seeing the end credits roll with the new Stan Bush song! Thanks to all who developed this one.

Just got through the game's event a second time around and it was just as interesting as the first viewing. Lots of epicness in this story. Though, having just reread Exodus to compare the two, the events of the game seemed to drag out a bit with all the seemingly endless waves of enemies coming at ya from everywhere. But at the same time, the overall story also seemed pretty short when compared to the book's events that parallel those of the game. It's like, while the endless fights took forever to sit through, the actually plotworthy scenes were kinds sped through. Granted, Exodus had some problems of its own, but still.

As mentioned before, the Deceptcion campaign's events seem to flow smoother than those of the Autobot campaign. Chapter II begins almost instantly after Chapter I ends, Chapter III's beginning probably has the biggest time gap after the end of Chapter II (since it might've taken a while for the Cons to get to Iacon from Kaon), Chapter IV begins immediately after Chapter III's conclusion, and Chapter V starts at the exact moment that Chapter IV ends.

Chapter VI is likely at some eventual point after Chapter V, Chapter VII occurs quite a while after Chapter VI (since the Autobots had to first get to Kaon from Iacon), Chapter VIII is shortly (but not quickly) after Chapter VII, Chapter IX most definitely comes much much later than the ending of Chapter VIII (since Prime's team would have had to get back from the Core), and then Chapter X is pretty much right after Chapter IX's end. Nevertheless, the story still holds up.

Though, one thing does have me curious. When Megatron confronts Optimus in the Kaon Prison Complex, he refers to Optimus as a "prodigy" and Optimus states that Megatron's reason for doing all this is revenge for something that happened between the two long ago. Well, what exactly was this event? It couldn't have been the Council bestowing Optimus with the title of Prime, since Optimus does not yet have this title at all since Zeta Prime never went missing until recently (keyword being "recently", whereas this falling out between Optimus and Megatron occur "long ago") and still held the title without question. What exactly was this falling out that the two had then?

Personally I think this is tied for the best video game I ever played. The other one is Star Wars BattleFront II. The only things it could have used was splitscreen, Personal files, like the ones in Battlefront II, where you could see how many kills you have, rewards for using weapons in different ways like in SWBFII, creating your own character, and freeplay modes where you could explore places like Iacon, Kaon, The Ark, etc.

Haven't gotten the chance to play in a while since my parent's PC, which is the only one I have access to that is good enough to run it has what appears to be a heating issue. I say that because when it gets cold outside I can play for like 4 or 5 hours with no problem, then when the weather heats up it crashes about 5 to 10 minutes into the game. So maybe when I get this problem totally figured out or get a better system to play on I can complete my more challenging mode playing as barricade, bumblebee and other weaker characters that aren't the leader type ones. Anyway just had to give another say about how great this game was and I'm still laughing at playing as Optimus riding a space slug with a gunturret on its back. Might have to wait til next winter or if it turns out to be a driver related issue and not heat it will be fixed in an upcoming release from the GPU company.

Think I have my crash problem figured out. Got the chance to beat first Decepticon mission on hard skill with Barricade today. WIll keep trying with different characters on hard but the snipers are very frustrating as they can take you out in 2 hits from max health.
