Announcing Masterpiece MP-34S Shadow Panther (Beast Wars)

Postby Sabrblade » Thu Jan 18, 2018 11:20 am

Dengeki Hobby has just announced the next Beast Wars Masterpiece figure to come after Dinobot. It is another redeco figure rather than a new mold, but is an exclusive so it isn't taking away from any existing slot of the main Masterpiece line. It is none other than MP-34S Shadow Panther (Beast Wars). A redeco of MP-34 Cheetus (Beast Wars)--known better as Cheetor in the West--Shadow Panther is based on the Japanese-original 1997 redecoed Predacon of the same name, who was later sold by HasbroCollectors.com to fans in the U.S. first as himself and later still as a another version of the Tripredacus Agent himself, Ravage.

This toy represents Shadow Panther as his original non-Ravage self and comes with three new accessories. The first is a new "Beast Mask" based on the original toy's Mutant Head, and the others are two versions of the long-range comm link that Rhinox made and which Cheetor used in Episode 3 of the Beast Wars cartoon, "The Web". There are two versions because one is meant to attach to the figure in Robot Mode and the other is for Beast Mode. The figure will be a TakaraTomy Mall exclusive (in Japan, at least) set to be released in August 2018 for a retail price of 8000 yen (about $72 USD).

"When there's gold feathers, punch behind you!!"

“Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.” -- C.S. Lewis
